Climate Change Impacts on International Transport
Networks: Joint UNECE/UNCTAD workshop expected
to raise awareness among member States, transport
industry stakeholders, and intergovernmental/non-governmental
organizations about the potentially important
challenges climate change impacts and adaptation
requirements present for international transportation.
Discussions will cover issues relating to different
modes of transportation in international supply-chains,
taking into account the situation in both developed

IRF / gTKP / CHTS 2nd International Convention
on Rural Roads: Following the successful experience
of the first Convention on Rural Roads held in
Tanzania last November, the convention aims this
year to help the communities, government agencies,
NGOs, development agencies and sector practitioners
identify aspects of the current Rural Transport
sector that can be improved. It will offer to
delegates an excellent opportunity to gain insight
in the latest research outcomes and experiences
in the impacts, planning, management and construction
of rural roads as well as their safety, through

in Mountains": The provision and maintenance
of access in mountainous areas has long been the
subject of public controversy. Some parts of society
see transportation as modernisation, others see
transport as a disturbance to fragile social and
economic contexts, geology, hydrology, and ecology.
This International workshop is a platform to share
and exchange experiences of transport in mountainous
terrain, to explore these controversies in depth,
learning from one another and identifying viable

Projects Latin America and the Caribbean -

Development Banks Gender Working Group. The workshop

skills for gender mainstreaming throughout the
project cycle. The main sectors covered by the
